As good designers, we are always thinking during the design process about maintenance and what the possible improvements in the future might be.' Wilming adds: 'And that prolongs the economic and technical shelflife of a product considerably!’ Using distinctive Spark projects as a basis, Wilming then showed how integrated product development works in practice.

Design meets industry
It was an exciting evening in which two seemingly different worlds - designers and representatives from the serious Rotterdam industry practice - got talking with each other. The debate ‘Design and Industrial Maintenance’ took place on 23 april 2009 and was the closing event of the Industrial Maintenance beurs in Ahoy Rotterdam.
