The sooner you make something, the sooner you'll understand it. That's why Spark puts a design or an idea to the test as soon as possible. At an early stage of the design, we make models, a proof-of-concept development, a mock-up with the correct weight or a foam model of the suggested shape.
The costs and duration of changes in a development project rapidly increase as the design gets more detailed and more complete. By carrying out ‘reality checks' as early as possible, we can quickly find the right direction. In this way we can prevent late changes, costly adjustments and unwanted delays.
The making, using and evaluating of all kinds of ‘prototypes' is an integral part of the design process at Spark. Design is not something you do just on paper or on screen, but also with your hands. It provides essential input to the designers, enhances communication with other stakeholders and feeds the enthusiasm of users, product managers and management.
