People with diabetes have a greatly increased risk of eye diseases. Consequently, patients have to have an annual eye test with a fundus camera. Simply put, this is a camera that takes photographs of the retina.
The problem is that for a good and sharp image, the pupil needs to be dilated with eye drops. This makes driving home from the eye test impossible for a few hours: as the world is hidden under a layer of fog!
I-Optics has designed a camera which makes the eye drops unnecessary. This makes the eye test much faster, more efficient, and the patient can get straight back into the car afterwards. What's more, the EasyScan delivers more diagnostic information than comparable systems.

Spark has made sure that the power, quality and precision of the EasyScan are reflected in the design. At the same time, the apparatus appears accessible to both the patient and the doctor. The patient looks into a camera that runs along the back of the scanner and rises gently out of the housing. This strengthens the feeling that powerful lenses are at work and incredibly sharp images are being made.
The aperture of the camera is adorned with a metal ring that communicates precision. The joystick that allows for infinite adjustments in three dimensions looks and feels sturdy and powerful. The camera can be focused by rotating a flexible rubber ring under the joystick. The detailing of the base plate, with LED indicators, radiates refinement and adds to the feeling of precision.
