Experienced Industrial Design Engineer

We’re on the hunt for experienced industrial designers that can be the driving force in our projects while perfectly fitting the Spark team and our work ethic. In this role you’ll be key in translating the ambitious ideas of our clients into innovative yet realistic product designs. Within the project team you’re the visionary, design lead, inspirator and sparring partner. Together with the project lead you manage progress, budget, planning and risks.

Is this you?

  • A design professional with a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • A graduate from one of the major Dutch industrial design educations on higher professional education level or university level (e.g. Delft, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Venlo, Eindhoven, Enschede).‍
  • A track record showing a leading role in complex integral design projects where technology,  materialization, cost, look-and-feel and usability blend to perfection.
  • Extensive experience in validate your design choices by models, simulations, calculations and user tests.
  • Ambition and creativity that is balanced by a healthy sense of reality.
  • A design lead that inspires by knowledge, skill and example.
  • A quick and critical thinker with an eye for detail.
  • Switching effortlessly between the broad context and the details.
  • Flexible and working on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Communicates easily with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
  • Extensive SolidWorks experience.

About Spark

We’re passionate about developing innovative products together with our clients with focus on the end user and the world around us. We do this at a high level of design and professionalism with a multidisciplinary team of industrial designers at our studio in Rotterdam. We’re open, direct, curious and love to challenge each other.

We are an authority in integral design of complex products where we continuously need to balance multidisciplinary challenges like technology, manufacturability, cost, compliance, look-and-feel and usability.
