Portfolio tops & tips for students from Eindhoven and Delft

The i.d. and Lucid students associations came to visit Spark at the same time. 10 students were allowed to come and take a look behind the scenes and sit down with Sparkers to discuss their work. Every student presented his/her work and received feedback from a group of our designers – exciting (!) and valuable.

A selection of the tips: make clear distinctions between types of text with large titles, subtitles and quotes. Think about the difference between.pdf and print layouts (spreads versus a few pages). Choose your image carefully to show context, use and process. In particular, show the work you are most proud of and that characterizes you as a designer. In addition, make sure that your files aren’t too big – your information has to be mailable.

The students found it a useful afternoon with good tips. They even came up with their own critical questions and were enthusiastic about showing the work going on in Eindhoven and Delft!
