The security robot

Future of collaboration

The security of buildings and industrial areas has been revolutionised with the security robot SAM – Secure, Autonomous and Mobile. SAM represents the future collaboration between humans and robots.

RSS asked us to analyse the current design and reduce the cost. We saw a chance to save significant time in the assembly by taking a completely different approach to the construction. We based the design around a powerful core construction and built the intelligence of the robot (the electronics) around it. The result: a greatly reduced assembly time, plus a positive effect on downtime during maintenance.

Dynamic security

SAM offers dynamic security through its autonomous reporting of irregularities. He passes obstacles, takes the elevator and opens automatic doors. In addition to the many standard sensors, there is also room for customer-specific extensions.

Design

The driving behaviour together with the forward stance determine a lot of how SAM is perceived. The design of the powerful graphical elements position the product in the right context and can be adjusted when SAM is used for a different purpose.

An extra pair of eyes

SAM can reassure or warn people using lights. It can also talk and set up an audio and video connection to an emergency room. It is a loyal extension of the surveillance team and provides 24/7 surveillance. Beware!

While keeping the technological concept exactly the same, the whole product changed, really taking it to a mature level.
