Underground charging station

New to the world!

Together with Streetplug, Spark has developed an exciting alternative to charging columns that are crowding pavements all over the world. It is the first underground charging station for electric vehicles. The first Streetplugs have now been installed at different locations in the Netherlands.

It is user-friendly and convenient. It opens with an app and leaves enough room for your charging cable. We solved the main challenges with a clever design: It warrants electrical safety, even in heavy rain and it withstands the wheel pressure of a loaded truck.

Solution for the future

Streetplug is the next generation electric charging stations. In the coming years we will need about 1.5 million more than there are now. Streetplug’s underground charging stations don’t take up any space and don’t influence the streetscape.

Load capacity

We have investigated the loads it has to bear and optimized the structure. Heavy vehicles, such as trucks, can drive over the charging stations without damaging them. The lid of the charging station opens wide, making the socket well accessible. Also the influence of weather is taken into consideration.
