Smart city lighting: Alexia

Cost effective design

Alexia is a smart fixture and after Anne the second smart city solution Spark designed for Sustainder. The innovative Dutch brand has asked Spark to develop a family of street lighting fixtures.

In contrast to Anne, which is intended for residential areas, Alexia is designed for urban and rural streets, directing the LED lighting efficiently onto the road. The elegant alumnium-moulded design is very cost effective and it features the swappable cassette, just like Anne.

Smart

Alexia and Anne are both controlled remotely via an API and respond to their environment. They use a unique cassette system with various sensor modules that can detect motion, sound or pollution.

Future-proof

The cassette system also ensures a future-proof design, which can easily be expanded with new technology. In addition, the LED lighting and customized optics ensure an energy-efficient product. The approved IP66 housing protects the electronics from weather, during its long lifespan.

Award

The smart fixture Alexia has won a German Design Award. Out of more than 5,000 entries in different categories, the jury chose the smart city hub as a winner in the discipline 'Product Design', category 'Lighting'. Spark is proud to have won this prestigious design award: a recognition of our well-developed design process.

Picutre of the project
