Text-to-speech-device

Unique function

For Optelec We have developed a completely new aid for the visually impaired. A device with a unique function: the automatic conversion of printed text into speech. Resulting in the ClearReader+.

The ClearReader+ text-to-speech device is a new-to-the-world concept. That is why a new archetype was created. This resulted in a product with an attractive, yet calm design language, supported by a control panel that is accessible for all.

User friendly

The device has a simple folding camera arm which the user can place over a newspaper, a letter or a book. After pressing the scan button, the camera takes a photograph of the text and, a few seconds later, reads the text out loud automatically.

Design

The design and colour of the controls make them easy to distinguish and use for the visually impaired or the blind. Thanks to the handle, it's a convenient device to bring along. The colours and materials match the exisiting product range of Optelec devices.

Social tool

The Optelec ClearReader+ is an important social tool for the blind and visually impaired, as well as for people with literacy problems or dyslexia. A dedicated device that turns text into speech is completely new. This product works across borders by offering four languages as standard: Dutch, English, French and German. The reading speeds can be customised.
